PLATFORM
South Fulton is a city full of potential — with the people, tax base, and location to lead, not lag. Yet in District 2, some of the most affluent neighborhoods have nothing to show for years of leadership except back-to-school drives and small events. That’s not enough. Our residents deserve more.
We need a vision that’s bold, cultural, and future-focused.
-
A city-led Field Day Festival that unites families and neighborhoods each year.
-
A monthly market at the Sandtown lot that highlights our small businesses, local food, and creative talent.
-
Cultural programming that prepares South Fulton to shine during the FIFA World Cup, with youth sports, art, and music as part of the city’s identity.
We need affordable housing that works for working families. We must also keep insurance companies and credit bureaus in check so residents aren’t priced out of their homes or unfairly penalized.
We need to ask the hard questions about new plazas and strip malls that sit half-empty for 3–4 years: Who are the owners refusing to rent to? Which businesses are being denied a chance to grow here? We need data, transparency, and action.
We need HOAs that stop outsourcing responsibility to companies with no connection to our neighborhoods, and instead reinvest in their own communities.
We must hold builders accountable — from permits to quality construction — and push hearings that expose which insurance companies are backing defective work and leaving homeowners stuck. If builders or insurers harm residents, we will fight back and file claims to protect our people.
District 2 deserves leadership that is active, creative, and committed to results.
The current leadership is boring and out of ideas. I’m running for City Council to bring urgency, innovation, and accountability back to District 2 — and to build the community our people deserve.
Quasar Alexander’s Vision for District 2: Fast Forward South Fulton
Vision
South Fulton is a city full of potential — with the people, tax base, and location to lead, not lag. Yet for too long, progress in District 2 has been delayed by bureaucracy, division, and a lack of urgency. My vision is to fast-forward our district’s progress with bold, urgent reforms that pay our people back with better services, safer streets, stronger neighborhoods, and greater opportunity.
As your District 2 City Councilmember, I will use every tool available — legislation, zoning, budgeting influence, and partnerships — to deliver results. Other cities nearby, like Union City, are moving quickly to attract new healthcare facilities and vibrant mixed-use developments, while South Fulton continues to stall. We cannot afford further delays or leadership that plays it safe. District 2 should be the standard of progress for all of South Fulton.
Infrastructure – Building a Strong Foundation
District 2 has some of the most affluent communities in South Fulton, but little to show for it. We need urgent upgrades and real investments.
Priorities:
-
Audit and accelerate overdue projects — fix sidewalks, streetlights, drainage, and repaving.
-
Push for smart infrastructure: adaptive traffic signals, bike lanes, and EV charging stations.
-
Address traffic bottlenecks like Butner & Campbellton with real solutions, not more delays.
-
Hold builders accountable for quality and safety in every home they put up in our district.
Economic & Cultural Development – A Bigger Vision
We cannot settle for small events and half-filled plazas. District 2 should be a hub of culture, commerce, and growth.
Priorities:
-
Develop a Restaurant Row and green business corridors to attract investment and energy.
-
Establish a monthly market at Sandtown to spotlight small businesses and local talent.
-
Create a District 2 Field Day Festival — a signature cultural event that unites families, boosts local vendors, and builds city pride.
-
Prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by leveraging youth sports, arts, and music to put South Fulton on the map.
-
Demand transparency from strip mall and plaza owners who keep storefronts vacant for 3–4 years. Who are they denying? We need data, hearings, and action.
Housing & Community Stability
Housing should bring security, not stress. District 2 families deserve fairness, affordability, and accountability.
Priorities:
-
Build more affordable housing that gives working families and young professionals a fair chance.
-
Keep insurance companies and credit bureaus in check to prevent unfair denials and predatory practices.
-
Use council hearings to expose negligent builders and their insurers — and fight back on behalf of homeowners when projects fail.
-
Empower HOAs to invest back into their own neighborhoods instead of outsourcing to companies disconnected from the community.
Youth, Seniors & Families
Our community deserves programs that uplift every generation.
Priorities:
-
Open pathways for youth training and internships right here in South Fulton.
-
Create cultural and educational programming that keeps young people engaged and supported.
-
Expand programs for seniors, ensuring they are safe, supported, and able to stay in their homes without fear of rising costs.
Accountability & Leadership
District 2 deserves leadership that is active, innovative, and accountable — not boring or out of ideas.
Priorities:
-
Bring real transparency to permitting, zoning, and code enforcement.
-
Call public hearings where residents can speak on the biggest issues — from traffic and housing to plaza vacancies and insurance abuse.
-
Restore urgency and vision to the council by driving a bold agenda and partnering with residents every step of the way.
