As your City Councilmember, I will: Launch a Workforce Hub in District 2 — a central resource where residents can access training, certifications, and direct pipelines to employers. Partner with local businesses, unions, and trade schools to expand apprenticeships in construction, green infrastructure, logistics, film, and hospitality. Push for a City-backed Job Match Program that uses technology to connect residents with employers faster, including youth internships and senior-friendly part-time work. Integrate Work and Transit Into a Single City App — South Fulton’s first official city app will connect residents to gig work, city jobs, and local business opportunities. From the same app, residents can schedule on-demand ride service, similar to Uber and Lyft, but city-run and cheaper, ensuring no one is locked out of work because they can’t get there. This is not MARTA — this is point-to-point pickup and drop-off anywhere in South Fulton. Hold builders, developers, and corporate contractors accountable by requiring local hiring targets and reporting on how many District 2 residents are employed on new projects. Leverage federal and state grants to fund AI, robotics, and STEM training so our community can compete in the next economy — not the last one. Workforce development in District 2 isn’t just about jobs. It’s about building wealth, raising standards of living, and making sure our residents benefit from every dollar invested in our city.
